ALEX BHATHAL - Managing Partner

Alex Bhathal serves as Founder and Managing Partner of RevOZ Capital, a leader and early adopter in Opportunity Zone real estate investing and division of the Revitate investment platform. In 2019, Globe St. honored RevOZ as the inaugural “Opportunity Zone Investor of the Year”. He is co-owner and Executive Director of Sacramento Basketball Holdings, which owns the Sacramento Kings NBA Franchise, Golden 1 Center and Downtown Commons entertainment and sports district. He serves as Senior Operating Partner of Rx3 Growth Partners, a consumer growth fund and as a Board Director for Compass Diversified (NYSE: CODI), Mark IV Capital, and Aspyr Holdings. Alex is a member of YPO and earned his B.A. from the University of California Los Angeles, M.B.A from the University of Southern California and is completing the Presidents Program in Leadership at Harvard Business School.

LISA MERAGE - Managing Partner

Lisa Bhathal Merage serves as Managing Partner of RevOZ Capital and Chair of its Social Impact Council. She also serves as Co-Founder and Managing Partner of RAJ Capital. The Newport Beach based firm is the alternative asset platform of the Bhathal Family Office. RAJ Capital was established after successfully selling the family’s 50-year old women’s swimwear business, RAJ Swim, to private equity.  Lisa was Co-President of RAJ Swim from 2006-2016.  Along with her family, Lisa is co-owner of Sacramento Basketball Holdings LLC.  The firm owns the Sacramento Kings franchise of the National Basketball Association (NBA), Golden 1 Center, the Sawyer Hotel and residences, and is the developer of the Downtown Commons entertainment and sports district in Sacramento. With a philanthropic passion for both the arts and education, Lisa i currently a Trustee and Advancement Committee Chair at JSerra Catholic High School. She has served as a Trustee for both Sage Hill School and St. Mary’s IB World School. Lisa serves as Treasurer of Segerstrom Center as an Angel of the Arts, and previously served as Vice Chair of the Board of the Orange County Museum of Art. Lisa was awarded Orange County Business Journal’s 2014 Women in Business winner. In 2015, she was awarded the “Altruist of the Year” Award from Modern Luxury magazine.  Lisa was also Chair of the Board of Gen Next, a nonprofit aimed at education reform, economic growth, and national security. Lisa is a graduate of USC’s Marshall School of Business. Lisa achieved a Certificate in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania.

RYAN PARKIN - Managing Partner

Ryan L. Parkin serves as Managing Partner of RevOZ Capital, a noted leader and early adopter in Opportunity Zone real estate investing. He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Cress Capital. Previously, he was a Principal with Chase Merritt and a Vice President with Andrews Securities where he acted as a principal investor, placement agent and advisor to leading real estate investors, operators and developers. Prior to these activities, he held an acquisitions role with PCCP, a leading commercial real estate private equity fund manager and portfolio lender. While at PCCP, Ryan participated in the origination, analysis, capitalization and legal structuring of investments totaling $375 million. He led the asset management of twenty investments totaling $400 million in firm capital representing approximately $1.2 billion in total capitalization. Previously, Ryan worked in real estate private equity fundraising with Credit Suisse and in an acquisitions role with the private multifamily developer JPI. Ryan received a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University cum laude with a double major in Economics and Human & Organizational Development. He has been associated with ULI, ICSC and NAIOP.

TOM PARNELL - Managing Partner

Thomas W. Parnell serves as Managing Partner of RevOZ Capital. Tom is also a Partner with Cress Capital. Prior to joining in 2016, Tom was Vice President at Triangle Petroleum Corporation where he advised management on all matters related to the company’s real estate growth strategy, including managing acquisitions and developments in North Dakota and Texas.  Prior to Triangle, Tom was a Vice President with the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, where he closed on real estate transactions totaling over $400 million of equity investment and oversaw an investment portfolio exceeding $2 billion. Earlier in his career, Tom worked at Industrial Growth Partners (IGP), a mid-market private equity firm, and was an analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Thomas Weisel Partners. He received his MBA from the Wharton School with a major in real estate and his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School with a concentration in finance.

MICHAEL BARRETT, CPA – Chief Financial Officer

Michael Barrett serves as Chief Financial Officer of RevOZ Capital and is responsible for all finance, treasury, tax and accounting activities related to property acquisitions, dispositions and overall investment fund management. Previously, he was Vice President of Finance for SoLa Impact, a family of social impact, real estate funds that was recognized by Forbes OZ 20 as the top OZ Fund with an Urban Focus.  Michael brings 20+ years experience in finance, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, policy and procedure implementation, compliance and system implementation, REIT and Fund Management.  Michael received his Bachelor in Science from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce with a concentration in accounting.

ANTHONY VU - Vice President, Investments

Anthony Vu serves as Vice President of Investments for RevOZ Capital and brings over 12 years of commercial real estate and finance experience. Prior to joining the RevOZ Capital team, Anthony was Senior Director of Investments and Operations at RealtyShares, an investment and crowdfunding platform for commercial real estate. Prior to that, Anthony was Director of Acquisitions at Thor Equities, an institutional real estate private equity fund, principal developer, and vertically-integrated operator. At Thor, he closed acquisitions totaling over $4.0 billion via a variety of structures, investors, and lenders, with a focus on value-add properties in North America, Europe, and Latin America. In addition, he worked directly in asset management and contributed to the successful execution of business plans, capital raising, and portfolio transactions. Prior to Thor, he worked in Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) for KLA-Tencor. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of California, San Diego, and a M.S. in Real Estate Finance and Investment from New York University.

 

 

JOHN NOLAN - Asset Manager

John Nolan serves as Asset Manager of RevOZ Capital and brings 20+ years of commercial real estate and finance experience to the team.  Prior to joining RevOZ, John was Vice President of Asset Management for a value-add, private equity investment fund at NAI Partners, where he managed a portfolio of office, industrial, and retail assets across South Central Texas.  Before NAI, John was Joint Venture Asset Manager with Weingarten Realty Investors (NYSE: WRI), where he established and maintained long-term business relationships with many of Weingarten’s institutional investors.  At Weingarten, he was responsible for a portfolio of 30 shopping centers across the US, containing over 3.5 million square feet. Prior to Weingarten, John worked for a boutique commercial real estate advisory firm, where he underwrote over $2.4 billion of institutional-grade investment property nationwide including multifamily, industrial, shopping centers, office, hospitality, and single-tenant net-lease.  Earlier in his career, John worked in investment sales and as a regional loan officer at Marcus & Millichap and in corporate finance at Electronic Data Systems (EDS).  John earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree cum laude in Finance from Texas Christian University where he also played division 1 soccer.

CHRIS BANHOLZER - Senior Director of Operations

Chris Banholzer serves as Senior Director of Operations at RevOZ Capital. Prior to joining RevOZ Capital, Chris was an Associate at Nuvest Ventures, a boutique investment banking and venture capital firm. Chris also spent over three years within the Insurance Solutions Group of Apollo Global Management. At Apollo, Chris focused on the analysis of large annuity, pension, and life insurance product mergers & acquisitions and also structured products, real estate, and alternatives portfolio management. Chris began his career as an investment banking analyst at Drexel Hamilton, providing advisory and capital raising services to emerging growth businesses. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from College of Charleston and also completed MIT’s Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investment online program.

HOLLY HARSHMAN – Director of Marketing

Holly serves as Director of Marketing for RevOZ Capital. Her expertise stems from 10+ years’ experience in public relations, digital marketing, event design and execution, graphics, and web design. Holly has collaborated with some of the biggest global consumer brands including GUESS?, Tommy Hilfiger, St. John, Hurley, Juicy Couture and the Sacramento Kings.  She was featured on Forbes for her role as Co-Creator of VYB Swim, a sustainable concept collection using up-cycled materials targeting millennial consumers. Holly earned her degree in management from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

 

 

PETER BENITO - Senior Accountant/Analyst

Peter serves as Senior Accountant/Analyst at RevOZ Capital. Prior to RevOZ, Peter worked at Marshall Reddick Real Estate, a residential real estate investment firm. During his three years at Marshall Reddick Real Estate, Peter was the lead accountant for the investment fund division, which included mortgage fund accounting and property flipping. He also oversaw property accounting for a large portfolio of investment properties nationwide. Peter began his career in procurement for various capital projects at Vanguard University before transitioning into real estate investing. Peter received his Bachelor of Science from Biola University, Crowell School of Business with a concentration in accounting.

MATT SIMON, CFA - Analyst

Matt Simon serves as Analyst at RevOZ Capital. He is responsible for evaluating prospective investment opportunities including underwriting, financial analysis, deal memoranda and acquisition due diligence. Acquisition Analyst at Crown Realty & Development (3 years) - underwrote over $4 billion of retail, office, multifamily, hospitality and industrial assets. Matt is a 2015 graduate of University of San Diego MSRE.
