Recent RevOZ Opportunity Zone Site Visits
In early May, the RevOZ Capital partners and members of the Social Impact Council fully came to life during a whirlwind three-day, three city tour of emerging OZ markets. Over a 60 hour period, the RevOZ leadership and social impact council members visited Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, and Nashville to learn more about each communities’ economic and community development story and OZ strategy. A few highlights:
In Oklahoma City, with the help of former OKC Mayor and RevOZ Social Impact Council member Mick Cornett, the group met with Mayor David Holt, top regional economic development leaders, and toured several OZ projects before checking out the Kings-Thunder game ( a Kings win by the way!).
In Indianapolis, the group met with Mayor Joe Hogsett, leaders from the Indy Chamber, and took a construction tour of the 421 Penn project - a $75M mixed use residential project in downtown Indy in the RevOZ Fund II portfolio on track to open by Q4 2022. The group checked out the Pacers-Kings game that night (another kings win!).
Finally, on day three, the RevOZ team toured Nashville, meeting with top business and real estate executives, and touring Opportunity Zone communities and affordable housing projects in east Nashville with RevOZ Social Impact Council member, Derrick Morgan.
The trip was an inspiring and invigorating tour of three of the most ambitious and promising communities in the country. In each, emerging collaborations between private, public and civic leaders bode well for the OZ and RevOZ pipeline.
Special thanks to RevOZ Capital Social Impact Members: Josh Childress, Derrick Morgan, Mick Cornett and Kunal Merchant for their support. More to come!
