Conversation On Opportunity Zones Sparks Tax Advantaged Interest
On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, the International Executive Council (IEC) teamed up with the Pacific Club for a collaborative and educational panel discussion on Opportunity Zones. The Opportunity Zones incentive is a new community investment tool established by Congress under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 to encourage long-term investments in low-income urban and rural communities nationwide. Opportunity Zones provide a tax incentive for investors to re-invest their unrealized capital gains into dedicated Opportunity Funds.
Guests heard from some of Orange County's most knowledgeable leaders regarding the topic, including Head of Investor Relations for RevOZ Capital, Kevin Maloney; CEO of Primior, Johnney Zhang; Principal at EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, Sean Conrad; and founder of C4 Investments, Carey Ransom.
The panel, moderated by Sean Conrad, shared with the group of 80+ senior executives the latest regulations affecting Opportunity Zones incentives. It is an incredibly important topic, specifically for Investors, Builders/Developers, community planners and leaders. Guests left with a wealth of information and well equipped to evaluate possibilities in Opportunity Zones.
